Do you dream of lifting the Champions League trophy, and being hailed a football hero?

Then SEFA Street 2009 is the chance of a lifetime. Chelsea and Soccer Elite FA have teamed up to find their next wonderkid footballer right here, in Maidstone.

They are looking for next seasons under-nines footballers with the skills to open up a defence, break up an attack or score a crucial goal just like John Terry, Frank Lampard and Joe Cole.

In a competition supported by the Kent Messenger, they will offer one child a six-week trial with Chelsea, playing alongside the stars of the future in the Premier League club’s academy.

If you’ve got the skills, you could follow the same path as John Terry through Chelsea’s academy to the first team, the captain’s armband, and possibly even international stardom.

It will all begin with the SEFA Street soccer skills contest, supported by the Kent Messenger, at Maplesden Noakes School, in Maidstone, from Monday, August 17, to Friday, August 21, on the state-of-the-art 3G playing surface.

It will be run by Soccer Elite FA who already run successful coaching programmes in the area, with links to many professional clubs for boys and girls playing in Kent.

Young players will only have to attend for one session during the week, when they will be scouted in a series of games and drills. The best players will be invited back for more coaching sessions, until a final team of 10 finalists is chosen. They will be taken up to Chelsea’s training ground for a match against a Chelsea youth team, when the coaches who built the careers of stars like England Captain John Terry will be watching.

At the end of that game, one footballing wonderkid will be given the chance of a lifetime to join Chelsea’s academy squad and take the first step towards a dream career in the Premier League.

Along the way we’ll be offering exclusive Chelsea competitions and giving tips on what the coaches will be looking out for at the talent contest.
